Civic Museum of Palazzo Santi

The Civic Museum of Cascia is housed in the prestigious Palazzo Santi, a Renaissance-era building (16th century) located in the heart of the city.

The Museum preserves the most significant finds from the Cascia territory and is composed of two main sections:

  • Archaeological Section: Gathers important evidence of the ancient settlement of the area, with artifacts spanning from the 8th to the 3rd century B.C.
  • Historical-Artistic Section: Dedicated to furnishings, polychrome wooden statues, canvases, and goldsmithery, covering a timeframe from the 14th to the 16th century A.D.

An element of particular note is the presence of sculptural and pictorial works from the school of Niccolò Alunno and the workshop of Giovanni di Pietro, known as Lo Spagna, fundamental artists of the Umbrian Renaissance, which enrich the collection.

The headquarters itself, Palazzo Santi, is a work of art, known for its ashlar portal and its elegant internal courtyard.
